A new logo for Our World

Our World has adopted a new logo. It places the two initials of our name, O and W, side by side.

The O is a perfect circle. The W has a flat top, with rounded corners at the bottom and a rounded peak in the middle. Both letters are drawn with a single line of even weight, and the stroke is about a fifth of the logo’s height. The W is slightly wider than the O. We tried versions with matching widths but kept the difference, because the W reads more naturally as a letter this way.

The logo grew out of an earlier hand-drawn sketch. We compared a number of variations before settling on this one.

Over the coming months, the logo will move onto this website, our apps, and our documents, along with the rest of our brand guidelines, such as color and type.
